What We "Believe" (or don't believe)

Although Cool Shul is an independent community, and our Rabbi is currently working toward a third ordination through AJRCA (a non-denominational seminary), she was ordained as a Jewish Universalist.

We still hold true many of the beliefs of Jewish Universalism.

FROM THE UJUC Website (and a little bit of our own)

  • All paths to a Divine Source are equally Holy and one’s religion is not the sole and exclusive source of truth.
  • Secular Jewish practice is as equally valid as those who search for a Divine Source.
  • Judaism is a constantly evolving spiritual practice.
  • All people who follow the dictate to love your neighbor as yourself are “chosen.”
  • Interfaith Families are embraced unconditionally, and we welcome all people to participate in our Jewish worship and rituals.
  • We openly welcome all who identify with the LGBTQ+ Community
  • We honor our Jewish rituals, traditions, teachings and texts as inspiration to repair the world (Tikkun Olam) through acts of loving kindness (G’milut Hasadim).
